The participants will be able to see and discuss a co-created digital art piece, which is made using selects sent in by the speakers, organizers and participants of the event. The individual pictures are orbited around a black hole before they are placed in the co-created piece. If you would like a photograph of yours to be a part of the co-creation, go to Sweden in Silicon Valley website for instructions on how to submit it.

TAKING ON CLIMATE TECH: WHAT CAN SWEDEN AND SILICON VALLEY LEARN FROM EACH OTHER?

Panel discussion on how Sweden and Silicon Valley are seizing the opportunity of climate tech and how we create the right conditions for growth companies to scale solutions for a net-zero transition. The session features investors, accelerators, and climate tech companies in Sweden and Silicon Valley.

Over the past year, entrepreneurial activity and investments in climate tech have soared to the point that leading investment corporations now expect the next 1,000 billion-dollar start-ups to be in climate tech. Between 2016 and 2021, climate tech start-ups in the U.S. raised the most funding, while their equivalents in Sweden came in third place. The rapidly growing market constitutes an opportunity for investors, entrepreneurs, and societies to couple financial gain with impact – leading to both Sweden and Silicon Valley joining the race to become the capital of climate tech. But how equipped are our ecosystems to foster and scale climate tech companies at the pace needed for net-zero transitions? And how do Sweden and Silicon Valley differ in how the opportunity of climate tech is seized?

Target groups: Entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators, policymakers, and private- and public sector representatives interested in how to make climate tech happen.
