Crowdsourcing @ Panasonic – Energy Modelling to Digital Twins for Smart Buildings
Crowdsourcing @ Panasonic is a dedicated open innovation platform for Panasonic Corporation to engage the innovation communities and seek technology solutions and partnerships to solve business challenges.
Background
Panasonic Corporation is a worldwide leader in developing diverse electronics technologies and solutions for customers in the consumer electronics, housing, automotive, enterprise solutions and device industries. The Electric Works Company of Panasonic Corporation is launching an open innovation challenge to seek innovative and effective ways to address the following problem statements:
Seeking solution to develop a digital twin that accurately predicts and optimises building operations and management using real-time data analysis.
Successful solutions should demonstrate the potential to significantly improve the performance of building operations and maintenance, reduce downtime and maintenance costs, and improve the overall efficiency and sustainability of buildings.
Seeking solution to improve and optimise simulation tools for planning, designing, and optimising building space for comfort and energy savings.
Successful solutions should demonstrate the potential to significantly improve the performance of simulation tools and accelerate the development of more energy-efficient and comfortable buildings through spatial distribution prediction and optimisation using computer-aided engineering (CAE) analysis.
Eligibility Criteria:
Open to all local and international start-ups, SMEs and research institutes with the relevant technology or innovative solutions
Development Timeframe:
Shortlisted applicants will go through these three phases.
Phase 1: Demonstration of Prototype
Phase 2: Selection of the most favourable solution based on a financial feasibility study, application suitability and collaboration viability.
Phase 3: Further co-development of Prototype to TRL8/9 + Test-bed and launch within a few years with Panasonic.
Desired outcome:
It is preferred that a minimally viable prototype is available.
Mode of Collaboration:
Different modes of collaboration can be explored ranging from co-innovation, licensing and white labelling depending on the Technology Readiness of the technology.
How to Participate:
Select the challenge statement you are interested to respond to. Prepare your proposal with the required information in PDF and submit it online. If you are responding to multiple challenges, please submit a separate proposal for each challenge statement. Applicants who submit proposals with a complete set of information stand a higher chance of being shortlisted.
