Nordic Innovation House is looking for a part-time Project Manager. This role provides you a great opportunity to work with Nordic as well as Japanese startups and innovation stakeholders, and a lot of chances to meet exciting Nordic founders.
The Nordic Innovation House Tokyo is a community platform accelerating high-quality Nordic tech startups and scaleups in Tokyo and Japan. Nordic Innovation House is a unique collaboration between the 5 Nordic countries – namely Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and Denmark. Nordic Innovation House Tokyo was inaugurated in May 2020.
Project Manager
The main responsibilities of the Project Manager are to plan and operate market entry programs and events, handle online and offline communications and build partner networks, support with company inquiries, and represent Nordic Innovation House Tokyo on different internal and external occasions. The responsibilities also include organizing and coordinating the Nordic Innovation House administration to ensure the efficiency and success of NIH's everyday activities. This position requires at least business-level skills in Japanese and a good command of English.
The Project Manager will welcome visitors and members, and keep up the Nordic, professional, and welcoming atmosphere. The Project Manager will be an important team player for the Nordic Innovation House Tokyo and contribute to the overall success of the House. The Project Manager will report to the Community Director.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
You are…
A well-organized and flexible professional who doesn’t mind wearing multiple hats
At minimum business-level skills in Japanese
Have good communication skills in English
Experienced in handling a wide range of project management tasks pro-actively
and enjoy supporting diverse people and teamsSelf-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision
Passionate for entrepreneurial communities, with connections in Tokyo’s and Japan’s startup and tech scene. Experiences of working within the startup ecosystem or corporate open innovation environment are considered a plus
Experienced with MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Able to manage digital marketing and support with event operations
Experiences in the Nordic region and knowledge of a Nordic language are considered a plus
This role is a paid part-time position of initially 1 year with a possibility of prolongation. Japanese work authorization is required, and there is no visa sponsorship available for this position. The position will be based at Business Sweden premises in Tokyo (Roppongi-itchome), but some travel, both regional and global, may be required. All the transportation fees will be covered, and remote working and flextime are available upon agreement.

The operations of Nordic Innovation House Tokyo started in the summer of 2020. We are seeking highly motivated professionals to be part of our operational team and help Nordic high-potential companies to go to market fast with reduced risk. The Team will play a key role in developing networks and implementing activities for Nordic companies looking to enter the Japanese market.
