CONNECTING WOMEN BETWEEN THE NORDICS AND SILICON VALLEY

For the past two years Nordic Innovation House-Silicon Valley has strenghtened our stronghold in inspiring and connecting women between the Nordics and Silicon Valley.

2020 is not slowing us down and this fall we are launching NWTI2020 program; a series of virtual events to support and inspire women to be engaged, find initiatives to join, and tools to act for diversity and inqlusivity.

BACKGROUND

Nordic Innovation published a report on the state of female entrepreneurship in the Nordics in 2020 leading us to question what can be done to increase the number of female entrepreneurs and investors, and strengthen gender equality in tech and innovation?

NWIT2020 program supports women in getting engaged in the entrepreneurial, business and investment ecosystems. We will give insight and tools for individuals, leaders, and policymakers for driving gender equality in tech and innovation.

OCTOBER 1: Series kick-off: Nordic update on Female Entrepreneurship/Women in tech and innovation - Overview of Nordic activities on gender equality in tech and innovation.
OCTOBER 22: Building Impactful Diversity & Inclusion Programs with Limited Resources: How to drive gender equality and build a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) programs in tech.
NOVEMBER 5: AI for Gender Equality: How AI can support gender equality in the fast moving world.
NOVEMBER 19: Engaging female investors: Empowering female angel investors: takeaways from SHE Invest .
DECEMBER 10: NWTI panel discussion & networking event: Connect with leading Nordic women who are setting their marks and standards in technology & innovation.

NWTI Connect - MATCHMAKING PROGRAM

Nordic Innovation report this spring underlined the well known fact that there are fewer female than male entrepreneurs in Nordics: one of the key reasons is seen to be a lack of role models and smaller networks. We are addressing that challenge with NWTI Connect –program, with the help of our community and networks, and Silicon Valley’s giving forward attitude.

Based on applications we will choose the first patch of 20 Nordic female entrepreneurs, hear their needs, and match and introduce them with role models, entrepreneurs and industry experts for online meetings.

The deadline for applications is November 30th 2020.
